Something else on your mind? Call or text Mackenzie and Dan at 519-670-3027.

Is Oakridge a good place to live?

For families, move up buyers and anyone who wants a detached home on a wide lot, yes. Oakridge has strong school choice, including the IB diploma at Oakridge Secondary, plus the Sifton Bog and two golf courses. It is less suited to going car free or wanting nightlife close by.

Where is Oakridge in London, Ontario?

Oakridge is in London's west end, on the Thames River's north side. Roughly, its edges are the CN rail line (north), Wonderland Road (east), the river (south) and Sanatorium Road (west).

How much does a house in Oakridge cost?

Homes here averaged $779,771 in August 2026, compared with $620,282 citywide. The first bungalows below Oxford Street usually begin near $600,000. In September 2026, executive homes on Riverside Drive and by the Hunt Club were listed from about $1 million to $2.6 million.

    What schools serve Oakridge?

On the public side, younger kids can go to Clara Brenton, John Dearness, Riverside, Westdale or West Oaks French Immersion. Catholic choices are St. Paul and Notre Dame, and Matthews Hall is independent. Oakridge Secondary and St. Thomas Aquinas are both inside the neighbourhood. Always confirm with the board for a specific address.

Does Oakridge Secondary offer the IB program?

Yes. Across the Thames Valley District School Board, only Oakridge Secondary has the International Baccalaureate diploma.

Are the houses in Oakridge old?

Most houses went up between the 1950s and 1980s. Building started south of Oxford Street in the 1950s and 60s, moved north of it in the 1970s and 80s, and still goes on at the north end and on Riverside Drive.

    What is the Sifton Bog?

It's a protected peat bog that floats, found just south of Oxford Street West. Melting glacial ice created it about 13,000 years ago. Follow the 370 metre boardwalk out to Redmond's Pond and look for rare plants, carnivorous ones among them.

How long does it take to get downtown from Oakridge?

It's about 15 minutes by car when traffic is light, or about 35 minutes by bus. Buses come less often here than in the middle of the city.

    Is Oakridge good for downsizers?

It can be. Townhomes, one floor homes and detached condo pockets like Hazel Lanes let longtime locals downsize without leaving, and the shops at Oxford and Hyde Park are close by.

    What is changing in Oakridge?

Oxford Street West is set to be widened, with phase one of the work expected to begin in 2026. In 2024 the Sifton Bog added about 18 acres of new trails. Big redevelopment is also coming to Cherryhill, just to the east.

What is the postal code for Oakridge?

Oakridge addresses use the N6H postal code prefix. Oakridge is part of Ward 8 in the City of London.
